• Courts are not geared towards cheap and quick resolution of conflict
• Limited in answers = the specialist
• Collective criminal behavior – dealt with by administrative agencies and leaves little stigma on individual
• Powerful are out of reach – busy, not all in one place, self-fashioned publicity
• Personal documents, memoirs might substitute for anthro participation
